Keep your little one safe and sound with these feeding safety tips:

• Never leave your baby alone when eating because of the risk of choking.

• Don't leave your baby unattended in his/her highchair, even for a couple of minutes.

• Stir foods warmed in the microwave thoroughly and test the temperature on the back of your hand before offering it to your baby.

• Discard unfinished baby food straightaway.

• Sterilize your baby's eating implements until he/she is at least six months old, even if you have a dishwasher.

• Cover home-made baby food before you store it in the fridge or freezer to prevent them coming into contact with raw foods.

• Freeze home-made baby food as soon as it is cool.

• Make sure your fridge is cold enough -- the temperature should always be below 5 degrees C.
